Kısa Özgeçmiş: Banu Yetkin Ekren is a Senior Lecturer of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.  Previously, Dr Ekren worked as an Associate Professor at Yasar University, Izmir, Turkey.  She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Louisville, KY, USA, in the Department of Industrial Engineering.  She was the recipient of the best PhD dissertation award when she graduated in 2009.  Her dissertation focused on the design and analysis of automated warehouses by using analytical and simulation modeling. Dr Ekren also completed a one-year postdoctoral research in the period of 2011-2012 for a funded contract project with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), PA, USA.  She developed simulation models for the DLA’s largest warehouse to improve its operating performance. Dr. Ekren’s expertise ranges widely from simulation modeling, agent-based modeling, inventory optimization, design and analysis of supply chains, and automated warehousing to stochastic modeling.  Dr Ekren has published several articles in many reputed international journals and conference proceedings.  She has led internationally funded research projects focusing on the design and analysis of smart supply chains as well as automated warehousing subjects.  She has been acting as a regular reviewer as well as guest editor for some reputed international journals.

Dr. Gözde Çay

Kısa Özgeçmiş: Gözde Çay was born in the Soma, Manisa, Turkiye. She completed her undergraduate education in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Abant İzzet Baysal University in Turkey in 2012. Then, she received her master’s degree in 2018 and her doctorate degree in 2022 in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in the United States. During this period, she worked as a research assistant at the Wearable Biosensing Lab. She currently serves as a postdoctoral associate at the Interdisciplinary Consortium on Advanced Motion Performance (iCAMP), affiliated with the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Her research interests cover topics such as embedded systems, smart textiles, wearable technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT). It is also involved in various digital health projects that assess movement quality using wearable sensors, provide telecare monitoring for older individuals, and enable remote monitoring of cognitive frailty at home.

Dr. Helena Gervasio

Kısa Özgeçmiş: Helena Gervasio has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Coimbra and she is integrated into the research center ISISE – Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering. She is an Associate Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra. She has been contributing to the Sustainability of the Construction sector since 2005. She is the president of the Portuguese Technical Committee CT171 (mirror group of CEN TC350 – “Sustainability of Construction Works”), an expert member in CEN TC350/WG6 “Engineering civil works”, member of Technical Committee TC14 – “Sustainability and Eco-Efficiency of Steel construction” of the European Commission for Coal and Steel (ECCS) and a member of the iiSBE Organization – “International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment”, among other TCs.

Short Bio: Mutlu Avcı received his BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Gaziantep University, Turkey, in 1999, MSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Cukurova University, Turkey, in 2001, and PhD degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Yildiz Technical University, Turkey, in 2005. He is currently a full Professor with the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Cukurova University. His research interests are Microelectronics, Analog and Mixed Signal VLSI and Artificial Intelligence for Biomedical Applications.
